Double plates

The jumping bite appliance (double plates) is a functional appliance, because the forces transferred to the maxilla and mandible are only produced by the masticatory muscles. By the incorporation of a memory screw in the maxilla, a fast transverse bodily expansion can be achived especially in young patients without a rapid maxillary expansion being necessary.

Facemask

The Facemask appliance may be used as early as age 6 to help move the upper jaw forward in patients with an underdeveloped or deficient upper jaw that is behind its ideal position (and in relation to the lower jaw). These individuals often present with an underbite, where the upper front teeth bite behind or against the lower front teeth.

The Twin Block is an appliance in two halves; one for the upper jaw and one for the lower jaw, each half have an inclined plane, possibly also an expansion screw for widening the jaws and springs or mini screws for adjusting the individual position of teeth.
